Join SoCal Adaptive Sports and Friends of the Desert Mountains volunteer docents on a hike for persons with disabilities, their family, and friends to Simone Pond.
The Coachella Valley Preserve has the second largest fan palm oasis in the valley. The trail begins at the “palm house” through the oasis along the wash to the restored Simone Pond. This lush oasis is home to several endangered flora and fauna and the San Andreas fault.
A great local colorful pioneer historical area. The trail is an out/back, approximately 2 miles total distance with minimal elevation. Bring snacks, 2 liters of water per person and your hiking poles. Wear close-toed shoes, a sun hat and sunscreen. Sorry, no dogs are allowed on this trail.
